Hello everyone,
A quick but important update. Fray has finished its journey across the ocean and reached the port. Over the next couple weeks it will be delivered to our warehouse and once it lands there shipping will begin.
As some of you may have noticed, we are finalizing addresses and locking Backerkit as we prepare for final shipping. If you haven’t received your email please check your spam folder. Just follow the instructions in the email if you need to update anything.
We’ll do another kickstarter update when the orders start fulfillment. As always, thank you for your support and endless patience. We know that this project went off the rails in terms of timing but we hope it’ll be worth it when you finally have Fray on your table!
Thanks,
The Brain Sandwich Team

Greetings everyone,
We hope everyone had a nice holiday season. Just a short but important update today. Fray was picked up by DHL from the factory about a week ago. The cargo is scheduled to leave port tomorrow.
Here is a few pictures of Fray on the first leg of its journey
The shipment is expected to reach our warehouse end of February/beginning of March. Once we have it in hand we will immediately begin fulfillment to the backers. We’ll do an update with information about shipping at that time.
Thanks again for all of your immense patience. We are now in the home stretch.
Thanks,
The Brain Sandwich Team
Finally. It’s time to think about shipping!

Well we finally have some good news. We know this project has been majorly delayed and that’s frustrating, both to you and to us. COVID-19, our own inexperience, and the fact that the project went way over budget all contributed to delays. We needed to bring in some outside funds to complete everything and we have successfully secured them. So we’re in the endgame now.
The main game, the expansion and the kickstarter exclusives are now all finished and ready to leave the factory. We got a copy of the first assembled production unit (not a sample) and it looks and plays great. We tested it just recently and it was really exciting. We know it was a long wait but we hope everyone will feel it was worth it in the end. Thanks for sticking with us.
First post-production game of Fray
What happens now
The units are waiting at the factory now. We got a quote for shipping and are now getting it scheduled for pick up. We’re trying to get it picked up from the factory in December and brought to a small storage facility near where we live in the US. It takes about 6 weeks to get here by sea. Once it lands we will start sending out units to the backers asap. We will be fulfulling all units (domestic and globally) from the US.
Now that we are in the mode of delivering the games to you there will be more frequent updates. Also at some point in the near future we will be closing out the pledge manager and locking in the addresses. More to follow.
Stay Tuned

Production is complete!

Hi everyone,
A quick but important update. The last few months we’ve been going back and forth with the printer to get the game components right. Things like bleed and pantone colors and other frustrating stuff. After getting it finally sorted, the factory went to work and we have now finished production on the entire order! We’re in the endgame now…
Last Steps
The factory is sending us a final complete production unit to verify everything is 100% right. Once that’s done the order will get ready to ship from China to our depot locations. The freight should be at the shipping port in the next few weeks. After that it takes about 5 weeks by ship to land at the warehouse. From there the units will be sorted and shipped to all of the backers. Our expectation would be that fullfilment will start in the fall, but timing is still uncertain.
Once the games leave the factory we’ll let everyone know the final steps are beginning. At that point we will close the pledge manager and lock in all the shipping addresses.
Shipping
We don’t have concrete information on shipping specifics yet. Shipping costs have run over our already exceeded budget and we are still figuring out the most effective way to ship the units. There is still some work to do but now that the games are finished the hardest part is over. We will do everything possible to make sure all of the games are delivered in roughly the same window to all backers. We will have future updates on shipping when we know more.
Note to Backers
We know many of you are frustrated by the very extended length of time this project has taken and some of you would have liked more regular updates along the way. All we can say is that a long while back we solemnly promised that one day you would have the game, and now that production is complete, we can absolutely guarantee that you will.
Thanks,
Bry, Mark and the whole Brain Sandwich team
Full Production Sample has arrived!

Hello everyone! Today we have a major milestone update. The factory sent us a full prototype of the main game, the reinforcement pack and the kickstarter exclusive pack (so basically everything). We unboxed it and took a bunch of photos to show off. Without further ado:
Box and components
Components with Minis
Game Board - Arena Side
Game Board - Dojo Side
Top and Bottom of game box
Loot counter, tokens and terrain tiles on punchboard
Character cards
Item cards
Minis on color coded skill rings
Customized Tray insert
Components stored in insert tray
Reinforcement Pack box and components
Reinforcement Pack tray with minis and cards
Reinforcement Pack item cards and minis in tray
Kickstarter Exclusive Box with components
Kickstarter Exclusive tray with components
Perils and token tiles on punchboard
Everything came out as good as we hoped. There was a few minor things we’ve asked the factory to fix, such as modifying a few slots in the tray inserts so a couple minis aren’t so snug, etc. We also asked to include plastic bags to keep components stored. Mostly all little things. Overall we are very pleased with how the final product has turned out.
Final Timetable
We’ve hit critical mass in terms of completing and delivering this project to everyone. The factory is pushing us to finalize a few last details so we can wrap up production as soon as possible. Right now as things stand we are expecting the games to be on their way from the facility to the shipping port by mid/end June. From there they’ll be making the journey to everyone’s home so hopefully we’re looking at a summer fulfilment. More information to follow in the next update.
